Trust & data-handling page + hardened, media-free telemetry
AetherCut v1.9.122 shipped on with 4 updates to the private, browser-based video editor. Everything here is already included in the latest version. AetherCut edits on your own device, so your footage never has to be uploaded to a server.
What's new in v1.9.122
- New /trust page spelling out the system boundary in plain English: editing and export run in your browser, and core media is never transmitted to or stored by AetherCut
- Honest about the one exception — opt-in AI tools send only the clip you choose to named subprocessors (OpenAI/Whisper, fal.ai), and Privacy Mode disables them for a verifiably zero-upload editor
- Analytics hardened so telemetry can never carry media: the browser strips any data:/blob:/base64 payload before sending, and the server rejects the same on ingest — events are allowlisted names + short opaque tags only
- Clear subprocessor list and a 'verify it yourself in DevTools' note, written for enterprise security reviews
