AetherCut™ vs Adobe Premiere Rush
Premiere Rush is Adobe's lightweight editor for creators. AetherCut is a no-Adobe, no-upload alternative.

Adobe Premiere Rush is Adobe's simplified Premiere Pro — designed for social-first creators who don't need the full Premiere Pro feature set. It requires a Creative Cloud subscription and syncs your projects through Creative Cloud storage.
AetherCut delivers the lightweight-editor experience without the subscription and without Adobe owning your projects. It runs entirely in your browser.

Subscription vs. flat pricing
Premiere Rush requires a Creative Cloud subscription. The standalone Rush plan was discontinued; Rush is now bundled with Creative Cloud All Apps or with the Premiere Pro single-app plan.
AetherCut is free for the core editor and Pro features. Pro is $14.95/month, $129.88/year (~$10.82/mo equiv), or a Lifetime Pro one-time purchase. No mandatory subscription. No upsell to a $54.99/month bundle.
Project storage
Premiere Rush stores your projects in Adobe Creative Cloud storage by default. Your project files (and the linked media) sync to Adobe's servers.
AetherCut stores your projects in your browser's IndexedDB by default. You own them. The optional cloud-save feature (coming Q3 2026) will store project metadata only — never the media itself.
When Premiere Rush still makes sense
If you already pay for Adobe Creative Cloud and use Premiere Pro on desktop, Rush integrates with your existing workflow — Rush projects open in Premiere Pro.
If you don't want to pay Adobe and don't need that integration, AetherCut is the better pick.
