Video editor for confidential footage
If you handle footage that's bound by an NDA, internal policy, HIPAA, GDPR data residency rules, or just plain common sense, every other browser editor's 'upload to process' workflow is a non-starter. AetherCut doesn't.
Who this is for
- HR teams editing internal investigation interviews or termination footage.
- Medical professionals editing patient consult recordings, surgical training footage, or case-study clips.
- Corporate security teams reviewing access- control camera footage.
- Journalists editing source interviews where the source's identity must be protected.
- Researchers editing IRB-bound participant recordings.
- Anyone whose employer's policy or client's NDA forbids transmitting the footage to a third-party service.
How the architecture helps
The footage never leaves your machine. There is no copy on our servers to subpoena, retain, or leak. If your compliance officer asks 'where is the data going', the answer is 'nowhere' — and you can demonstrate it in DevTools in under a minute.
Privacy Mode disables every optional cloud feature (auto-captions, AI Director, AI B-roll) so even the metadata of your editing session doesn't leave the browser.
What we'd still recommend doing
- Toggle Privacy Mode on before importing the footage.
- Verify in DevTools that no outbound video bytes leave your machine during editing.
- Export to a local-only encrypted volume if your policy requires at-rest encryption.
- Document the workflow for your compliance team — we can provide a one-page architecture summary on request (email AethercutAdmin@gmail.com).
