Beginner Mode goes multilingual + first-time welcome popup + Android 15 polish
AetherCut v1.9.15 shipped on with 6 updates to the private, browser-based video editor. Everything here is already included in the latest version. AetherCut edits on your own device, so your footage never has to be uploaded to a server.
What's new in v1.9.15
- New first-time welcome popup — appears 30s after your first editor visit explaining how to turn on Beginner Mode in one click. Bottom-right toast style (non-intrusive), dismissible with 'Got it', never shows again on the same browser
- Beginner Mode hints now localized in 6 languages — Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese (71 tools × 6 langs = 426 translated tooltips). Remaining 13 languages still get English body copy + localized labels as a graceful fallback
- Shareable language links — append ?lng=es (or fr/de/ja/ar/etc.) to any AetherCut URL to load the app in that language. Choice persists to localStorage so subsequent visits stick. Useful for share-back links from international creator communities
- Android 15 edge-to-edge support — installed PWA on Android 15+ phones now respects the system status / nav bar safe areas (viewport-fit=cover + env(safe-area-inset-*)). Clears the Play Console advisory and stops header buttons from getting clipped under the gesture nav bar
- PWA install card refreshed — now shows the correct 72 Tools · 30 AI Features count (was stuck at 69/29 from pre-launch). Feature graphic regenerated with properly centered pill labels. All 15 play-store assets re-synced backend ↔ frontend
- Translation script hardened — incremental persistence, per-language 4-min timeout, smart-quote normalization for CJK locales, idempotent resume-from-disk. Re-runs only translate what's missing
